ACPT Congress 2026: Making Multilingual Access Easier with AI Interpretation
Supporting Multilingual Communication at an International Congress for Physical Therapy Professionals
The 17th ACPT Congress 2026 brought together physical therapy professionals from across Asia at Suwon Convention Center from April 11 to 12, 2026. Under the theme “Redefining the Boundaries of Physical Therapy: Sustainability, Collaboration, Innovation,” the congress explored the future of physical therapy through the lenses of sustainability, collaboration, and innovation.
As with any international academic congress, speakers and attendees came from different linguistic backgrounds. The languages used could vary depending on the session and speaker, making it important to provide a multilingual environment where participants could follow presentations without missing key information. At ACPT Congress 2026, EventCAT supported this need with QR-based AI interpretation and real-time subtitles, allowing participants to access content in the language most comfortable for them.
Easy QR Access to AI Interpretation Subtitles in Each Attendee’s Preferred Language
EventCAT provided real-time interpretation subtitles in multiple languages, including Korean, English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese (Taiwan), Cantonese Chinese, Indonesian, Malay, and Thai, taking into account the diverse backgrounds of participants attending ACPT Congress 2026.
The main subtitle language for each session was displayed on screens inside the venue so that attendees could follow presentations at a glance. Participants who needed a different language could scan a QR code and select their preferred subtitle language on their personal mobile devices.
Audio support was also available alongside text subtitles, allowing attendees to follow presentations and discussions in the format that was most convenient for them. This created a more flexible multilingual participation experience for attendees from different language backgrounds.
Stable AI Interpretation Across Multiple Concurrent Sessions
ACPT Congress 2026 included presentations and sessions running simultaneously across the convention hall and multiple breakout rooms. EventCAT supported each room based on its schedule and presentation language, enabling real-time AI interpretation subtitles across parallel sessions.
An EventCAT technician remained on-site throughout the two-day event to monitor the overall AI interpretation setup. By monitoring real-time subtitles in each session and responding to on-site needs, EventCAT helped ensure that participants could access translated subtitles reliably throughout the congress.
Improving Translation Accuracy with a Customized Physical Therapy Glossary
Physical therapy conferences frequently feature specialized terminology, treatment techniques, institution names, speaker names, and abbreviations. At an international congress where research topics and organizations from multiple countries are introduced, certain terms and proper nouns may not always be captured accurately through real-time translation alone.
To improve subtitle accuracy, EventCAT applied a customized glossary tailored to the event. Based on speakers’ presentation materials, key technical terms, proper nouns, and abbreviations were reflected in advance so that subtitles could more closely match the content of each session.
This helped participants understand key information more clearly, even during highly specialized presentations, while providing a more consistent experience for attendees across different language groups.
EventCAT AI Interpretation for Medical and Academic Conferences
For international medical conferences, providing multiple languages is only part of the challenge. Accurate delivery of specialized terminology and stable operation across multiple sessions are equally important. EventCAT supports medical and academic conferences with multilingual real-time subtitles, audio support, customized glossaries, and on-site monitoring. These capabilities help participants focus on presentations and discussions, even in highly specialized settings.
EventCAT has built operational experience across a range of healthcare and medical events, including the 2026 Korean Prostate Society conference, International Congress of Acute Care Surgery (ICACS 2026), and the Asia Pacific Conference on Disaster Medicine (APCDM 2024).
