EventCAT Lands in Fukuoka: Powering Multilingual Stages at RAMEN TECH 2026
In October 2026, Fukuoka welcomed startups, investors, and industry leaders from across Asia for RAMEN TECH 2026, an international startup festival bringing together innovators from different countries. EventCAT, XL8's real-time AI interpretation platform, supported multilingual communication at three events: Global Summit, Global Connect Spark Day, and the Japan × Korea Deep Tech Pitch Arena.
From simultaneous sessions across multiple stages to international startup pitches, EventCAT helped audiences follow presentations in their preferred languages through venue screens and personal devices.
RAMEN TECH 2026: Connecting Asia's Startup Ecosystem
Organized by Fukuoka City, RAMEN TECH (Revolutionizing Asia: Merging Ecosystems & Networks TECH) brings together startups, investors, corporations, and government representatives from Japan and around the world. Held from October 7–11, 2026, the festival featured startup pitches, exhibitions, and business networking opportunities across Fukuoka's Tenjin and Daimyo districts. At the heart of the festival was RAMEN TECH Global Summit 2026, held on October 8 at Daimyo Conference.

Global Summit: Multilingual Access Across Three Stages
At RAMEN TECH's flagship Global Summit, sessions took place simultaneously across three stages, with EventCAT providing real-time translation on all three. Each stage featured a dedicated QR code that attendees could scan to follow live translations directly on their smartphones.

As participants moved between stages, they could easily access translations for different sessions without relying on dedicated interpretation devices. This made it easier for international attendees to navigate a busy, multi-stage conference and follow the presentations that interested them most.

Global Connect Spark Day: Connecting International Startup Pitches
At Global Connect Spark Day, startups from Taiwan and Singapore presented their innovations to an audience that included Japanese attendees. EventCAT provided real-time translation to help bridge the language gap between international presenters and the local audience, making it easier for participants to understand the pitches and engage with the ideas being shared.

Japan × Korea Deep Tech Pitch Arena: Three Languages, One Stage
At the Japan × Korea Deep Tech Pitch Arena, deep tech startups from Japan and Korea came together to showcase their technologies and business ideas. EventCAT displayed Japanese and English subtitles on the venue screen, while Korean-speaking attendees could follow the presentations in Korean on their own devices.

As speakers switched between Japanese and Korean, attendees could continue following the presentations in their preferred language. By combining on-screen subtitles with personal-device translation, the event was able to accommodate three languages within a single venue without requiring separate interpretation equipment for every attendee.

XL8's First Visit to Fukuoka: Building Connections Across Asia
RAMEN TECH 2026 also marked XL8's first visit to Fukuoka. Selected to participate in Plug in: Fukuoka #13 through the Busan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (BCCEI), XL8 had the opportunity to engage with the local startup ecosystem beyond providing AI interpretation services.
Alongside supporting multilingual sessions, XL8 exhibited at RAMEN TECH Global Summit and took part in pitching sessions at both the Japan × Korea Deep Tech Pitch Arena and the CIC Fukuoka Lunch Meetup. These activities gave us the opportunity to meet directly with startups, investors, and businesses from Fukuoka, other parts of Japan, and across Asia, opening conversations about potential partnerships and future collaboration.
Connecting People Beyond Language Barriers
Known as a gateway to Asia, Fukuoka brings together people, businesses, and ideas from across borders. For XL8, participating in RAMEN TECH 2026 was an opportunity not only to introduce EventCAT to a new audience but also to see how real-time AI interpretation can support communication at international events.
We sincerely thank the RAMEN TECH organizing team, the Busan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (BCCEI), and Fukuoka Jisho for their support through Plug in: Fukuoka #13, as well as everyone we had the pleasure of meeting during the festival.
