GEEF 2026 Global Engagement & Empowerment Forum: EventCAT AI Live Interpretation Case Study
Supporting Global Dialogue at GEEF 2026 with AI Live Interpretation
GEEF 2026 (Global Engagement & Empowerment Forum) was held from March 12 to 13, 2026, at Baekyangnuri, Yonsei University, under the theme “Time for Action: Emerging Technology & Global Solidarity.” The forum brought together global leaders and experts, including Yonsei University President Dong-Sup Yoon, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, former Prime Minister of New Zealand Dame Jenny Shipley, and Cha Jiho, a member of the Korean National Assembly.

With programs including the opening ceremony, keynote speeches, and plenary sessions, GEEF 2026 required a multilingual communication environment where global speakers and participants could follow the discussion without language barriers. EventCAT supported the forum with real-time AI subtitles, helping attendees stay engaged with the flow of each session.
Expanding Multilingual Access Through Receivers, Mobile Devices, and Large Screens
EventCAT provided both real-time subtitles and TTS (Text-to-Speech)-based AI interpretation audio across key session spaces at GEEF 2026. Around 300 interpretation receivers were prepared on-site and connected to EventCAT’s AI interpretation audio, allowing participants to listen to translated audio reliably through dedicated receivers.

At the same time, participants who preferred to use their own earphones or mobile devices could access subtitles or interpretation audio in their preferred language by scanning a QR code. This allowed attendees to choose the format that best suited their needs, whether through the on-site receiver system or their own devices.
Real-time subtitles were also displayed on large screens inside the venue, enabling participants to visually follow the speaker’s content regardless of how they chose to listen. Together, these options created a multilingual setup that worked across both personal and shared viewing environments.
Helping Attendees Follow Multi-Speaker Sessions with Speaker Diarization
GEEF 2026 included plenary sessions such as Plenary Session 1: AI for a Better World, where multiple speakers and panelists shared the stage. In sessions where speakers change frequently and different perspectives are exchanged, attendees need to follow not only the translated content but also the flow of the discussion.

EventCAT used speaker diarization to support real-time interpretation subtitles in multi-speaker sessions. By helping structure the subtitle flow as speakers changed, EventCAT made it easier for attendees to follow the discussion and stay focused during active panel exchanges.
Improving Translation Accuracy with Pre-Training Using Presentation Materials
GEEF 2026 covered a wide range of topics, including sustainable development, emerging technology, and global solidarity. As a result, policy terms, organization names, technical terminology, and other proper nouns appeared frequently throughout the sessions. In this type of environment, real-time translation alone may not always capture every term or context accurately.
To provide more accurate subtitles for the event, EventCAT applied pre-training using presentation materials. By reflecting key terms and session-specific context in advance, EventCAT was able to deliver subtitles that better matched the content of each session.
EventCAT AI Live Interpretation for Global Forums
EventCAT supports AI live interpretation and multilingual subtitles across academic conferences, global forums, corporate events, and large-scale summits. Even in environments where multiple rooms, languages, and session formats are running at the same time, EventCAT helps participants understand content in their preferred language and stay focused on presentations and discussions.
EventCAT has provided real-time translated subtitles for a wide range of global events and conferences, including SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, Connect Marketplace Hong Kong, and COMEUP 2025.
