From Japan’s Prime Minister to 40,000 Attendees, EventCAT Delivers Real-Time Captions at SusHi Tech Tokyo
SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026: EventCAT Delivers Real-Time Multilingual Captions
SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026 was held at Tokyo Big Sight from April 27 to 29. As one of Asia’s largest global innovation events, it brought together companies, institutions, and innovators from around the world. XL8 participated as an AI technology partner officially invited by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and operated its AI simultaneous interpretation solution, EventCAT, throughout the event.

The participation was based on XL8’s official collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. EventCAT’s implementation at a large-scale global event hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government marked an important step in strengthening its technical credibility in the Japanese market.

XL8 provided real-time interpretation captions across major stages, including the Impact Stage and Atrium. At key programs, including VIP sessions attended by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, and Taiwan’s Minister of Environment, EventCAT supported Japanese-to-English and English-to-Japanese real-time interpretation captions. This helped facilitate communication between global speakers and the audience gathered at Tokyo Big Sight.

The EventCAT booth also drew visitors from Japanese companies and global enterprises. Visitors experienced real-time captions and voice interpretation firsthand and explored how the solution can be used in multilingual environments. Global companies with headquarters or offices in Japan, as well as VC firms, government organizations, and MICE industry professionals, showed strong interest in EventCAT’s Japanese translation accuracy and its support for more than 50 languages.
Following its participation in Startup JAPAN EXPO earlier in April at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, XL8 also participated in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026. Together, the two events highlighted strong interest in real-time interpretation captions in the Japanese market and positive feedback on EventCAT’s caption accuracy and practical usability.
XL8 will continue to support real-time communication and help reduce language barriers at global events and in business settings through EventCAT.
