AI Real-Time Subtitles at the Stadium: kt wiz and EventCAT Expand the Baseball Experience for International Fans
As more international visitors attend Korean professional baseball games, interest in multilingual guidance and real-time captions at stadiums is growing. Starting with the 2026 season, kt wiz introduced EventCAT AI real-time captions to respond to this shift. At kt wiz home games, in-stadium commentary is displayed as English captions on the scoreboard, allowing international fans to follow the game flow and understand the commentary more easily.
A baseball game is about more than the plays on the field. Player introductions, chants, fan events, and in-stadium commentary all contribute to the full stadium experience. However, much of this information is typically provided in Korean, making it difficult for international fans to fully understand the atmosphere and unique moments of the game, even when they can follow the action on the field.
As expectations around multilingual access continue to grow, more sports venues are exploring AI real-time captions to help local and international fans access the same information and enjoy the same moments together. kt wiz also worked with EventCAT to provide a more accessible game-day experience for international fans.

EventCAT supports fast and stable caption delivery even in sports stadium environments where crowd noise, chants, and live commentary happen at the same time. It also uses a pre-registered glossary to reflect player names, team names, baseball terms such as double play, sacrifice fly, and wild pitch, as well as other proper nouns and game-specific expressions. This helps international fans understand in-stadium commentary more accurately and naturally.
The implementation at Suwon KT Wiz Park marks EventCAT’s expansion beyond film festivals, award ceremonies, international conferences, and other live event settings into professional sports venues. By providing English captions directly on the stadium scoreboard, EventCAT shows how AI real-time interpretation captions can support a better viewing experience for international sports fans.
XL8 will continue to use EventCAT to reduce language barriers across sports, MICE, performances, international events, and other live environments, helping more audiences stay connected to what is happening on site.
